The Heidi Hat

One of our family's favorite books is the classic Heidi.  Growing up I had a vague notion of what it was about, probably mostly informed by the Shirley Temple film, but reading it last year aloud to the girls was such a beautiful experience every afternoon during lunch together. Heidi is sweet, but feisty and always so generous, and I loved reading the awakening of her child's soul to God's love.

Heidi's full name is Adelheid.  Since we have our own Adelaide (not nicknamed Heidi since I had no idea that Heidi was often a nickname Adelaide - if I had, it would have been in the runnings), she loved the idea of naming her new hat the Heidi Hat.

The multicolored handknit Heidi Hat is made from merino wool blend yarn that is so squishy and luxuriously soft without a trace of itch.  My Lyddie (who could have been Heidi) won't wear anything that even faintly resembles scratchy wool, but she loves how soft and comfortable her new hat is.  I love the ombre style of the color shifts, and how the different colors all show up in the pompom, tying the whole hat together up at the top like a bow.  I have several different color palettes available for this perfect, cozy winter beanie!  Follow the link to The Heidi Hat to see the listing and get one for yourself or your loved one today!
